1 p.m., Friday

Hi folks. I’m back from practice over at Xcel.

The team picture was at 11:15, and the team was quickly on the ice for a practice that lasted about an hour. That is slightly longer than usual for a day in between games. Jacques Lemaire remained pleased with last night’s game, except for the five minute stretch at the end. Lemaire also proclaimed Owen Nolan ready to go for Saturday’s game.

The team is now in an NHL security meeting, and I’m back at the office trying to get some things done so we’re not all here forever on a Friday in the midst of several home games in a row. Aaron and I let Robert our intern sleep in a bit today, and we had notes done and out to media by 10 a.m. Robert is now making packets to drop by Columbus’ hotel today. The Blue Jackets host the Rangers tonight and then fly in late tonight.

There isn’t a whole lot else going on. I’m looking ahead at a pair of game program stories due before I leave for the road on Halloween. I’ll probably talk to a couple guys at practice Sunday and Tuesday.

I’ll probably be blogging most of Saturday as I plan on being at the rink most of the day. If you have questions or comments, don’t forget to e-mail them to rstanzel@wild.com. I’ll talk to everyone Saturday!
