Here we are. Still. At the FBO at MSP awaiting clearance to take off to Newark. They are working a flight plan into White Plains "just in case," but it takes an hour to create a new flight plan. It looks like the earliest our bus would then get to Manhattan is 8 p.m.
Most of the players are playing cards or video games, or watching movies or napping. One player asked me how room service was in New York, because we'd arrive too late for dinner. I laughed. We're all quite hungry. We can have sandwiches and appetizers now, but no hot meal till we take off.
The engines were just fired up we're going to taxi to the end of the runway and wait a bit longer. This may be the last you hear from me till the morning. Dinner awaits in New York.

Our official Mikko Koivu
injury update is below. Koivu will not travel with us to New York. Neither will Derek Boogaard (upper body).
Mikko had an MRI and met with doctors last night. Doctors cannot estimate the amount of time he will miss for a few more days, dependant on how much effusion and stiffness appears in his joint, but it looks like it will be at least seven days and as long as a couple of weeks.
Marek Zidlicky was back on the ice today and will travel with the team after missing last night's win with a lower body injury.
And Wild.com's Jamie MacDonald is toeing a fine line before getting fined by the travel guy, who offered him a ride to the airport. All Jamie did was drop my favorite Yankees hat out of my backseat and onto the rainy parking lot, "By accident."
I'm in the FBO handing out per diem. We'll no doubt be a few minutes late out of here just because Newark is well, Newark. Talk to you from Manhattan.

Greetings! I’m about to head downstairs to practice for a bit and head out to the airport about noon for our 1:30 p.m. flight today into scenic Newark International Airport. From there, we will take a bus into Times Square, where we will stay until our game tomorrow against the New York Rangers.
We’re still awaiting word on the seriousness of Mikko Koivu
’s knee injury. Stay tuned to Wild.com for more details.
This will be a fun trip. First off, it’s only two nights. It’s weird just bringing one suit, one bag, and two additional shirts, after the 11-day jaunt earlier this month. Secondly, after spending my formative years in upstate New York, a Knicks and Rangers fan, I will finally step foot in Madison Square Garden for the first time, ever. I’m pretty excited about that. Plus, my mom is coming down from upstate. And Wednesday on the Island, I expect to catch up with a former intern of mine with the Houston Aeros.
I’ve already touched base with Jon Norton, the VERSUS producer for tomorrow’s game against the Rangers. This will be our seventh appearance on VERSUS this year, so we’re very familiar with Jon, who would like Marian Gaborik for a bench interview with Christine Simpson. They’ll also do a bench interview at the 10:00 mark of the second period, plus a post-game interview with a Wild win.
We’re also expecting to see some folks from NHL.com tomorrow morning at MSG. We’d like to get someone on NHL Live at the NHL Studios in Manhattan, but unfortunately our one afternoon in New York is a gameday.
Here’s hoping for an easier trip to Newark than Aaron Sickman had last week, which included a three-hour delay, and being rerouted into White Plains. Talk to you later.
