The Wild skated for 45 minutes today. The most notable news was Peter Olvecky centering Marian Gaborik and Andrew Brunette. Jacques Lemaire said afterwards that James Sheppard will begin there Friday night, he just wanted to see Olvecky between those Gaborik and Brunette.

Lemaire also told the assembled media how proud he would be if this team made the playoffs, with the amount of injuries that have come, especially late in the season.

The only notable game last night saw Columbus clinch a playoff spot against Chicago. The Wild need the Blue Jackets’ help in St. Louis tomorrow night. (See: Down the stretch they com …).

I’m just getting things ready for the games this weekend, and also working on the playoff guide/-season wrap-up guide. If the Wild makes the playoffs, we need to send the guide to the printer Sunday night. If we don’t make the playoffs, we use all the files for a season wrap-up.

The final regular season press meal is:
    Hearty Vegetable soup
    BBQ glazed Meatloaf
    Beer battered fish and chips
    Potato gratin
    Vegetable medley
    Assorted desserts
