TeamCele

It has been a record-setting regular season for the Wild, both as a team and individually. The benchmarks for wins and points were each shattered, but the team's record book was practically re-written by a team that scored more goals than any Wild team that came before it.
In addition to team records, players also set new personal benchmarks in 2021-22, as 79 individual bests were achieved by Wild players during the regular season.

The hope now is that success translates to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where the Wild hasn't advanced past the First Round since 2014, and has gone beyond the Second Round just once -- during the magically 2003 run to the Western Conference Final.
But before we get to the postseason, here's a look back at some of the team highlights from a memorable regular season:

Wins

The Wild's 53 wins were four better than the previous mark of 49 set by the 2016-17 version of the team, and the 113 points in the standings were seven more than the same club. It was just the fifth time the Wild had reached 100 points in a season and the first time it surpassed 110.
Among other wins records this season, the Wild had 11 overtime victories, nine multi-goal comeback victories, three-goal wins (23), victories at Xcel Energy Center (31) and most wins against the Eastern Conference (23), including 14 against the Metropolitan Division, against which the Wild went 14-0-2 on the year.
Minnesota's 22 regulation losses were the fewest in team history and it's .667 win percentage in games decided by one goal was the best.
For the first time, the Wild had three winning streaks of at least six games in one season, and its three 10-plus game point streaks in a single campaign is the only time its happened in the NHL over the past two decades.

Goals

Minnesota's 305 goals scored as a team shattered the old record of 263 set during the 2016-17 season. That amounts to an additional half goal per game from the previous record pace.
Within that, the Wild scored more goals in home games (168) and in road games (137) than they ever have, besting old marks of 137 and 126, respectively.
Among team goal-scoring records set this season also included, goals in each the first (93), second (100) and third periods (101), most 6-on-5 goals (19), a number which led the National Hockey League by a wide margin and was the most 6-on-5 goals scored by any team in at least the last 15 years.
Minnesota had more 20-plus goal scorers this season (six) than any other season, and for the first time, had three 30-goal scorers in Kirill Kaprizov, Kevin Fiala and Ryan Hartman.
The eight goals it scored in a win over Montreal on Jan. 24 tied the franchise mark and the Wild scored seven goals in a game on seven different occasions.
The Wild also had its most shots on goal in a season (2,666), shots in a game (49 at Nashville on April 5), best road power play for a season (23.1 percent, had its longest homestand (nine games, on which it went 7-0-2) and had its most hits in a game (48).
The sheer number of individual records to go down this season was staggering.

Points

Kaprizov's 108 points bested Marian Gaborik's previous high of 82, a record that was shattered with a month remaining in the regular season.
Kaprizov also established new records for home points (64), road points (44), even-strength points (77) and multi-point games in a season (32).
Kevin Fiala's 12-game point streak tied a franchise record.
Mats Zuccarello's six-game multi-point streak set a new franchise record and was nearly equalled by Fiala in April. He went five consecutive with multiple points.
Matt Boldy set a new record for longest point streak by a Wild rookie, tallying at least one point in 10 straight contests in April. His four-point night against Detroit on Valentine's Day was the most by a Wild rookie in a single game.

Goals

Kaprizov's 47 goals shattered the previous mark of 42, which was held by both Gaborik and Eric Staal.
Kaprizov's 28 goals at Xcel Energy Center tied Gaborik's team record from 2007-08. His 14 goals in March were the most ever scored by a Wild player in a single month. His six-game streak of scoring at least one goal tied the team record.
Kaprizov and Hartman shared the new record for even-strength goals in a season, each tallying 33 in 2021-22.

Assists

Poor Pierre-Marc Bouchard ... since 2007-08, his 50 assists in a season was a team record and he was the only man in franchise history to reach half a century.
Not anymore.
Mats Zuccarello was the first one to surpass the mark, but he wasn't the last. Kaprizov's 61 helpers are the new benchmark, but Zuccarello's 55 and Fiala's 52 each surpassed the old mark.
Boldy's 24 assists tied the team rookie record set by Kaprizov last year.
Fiala's big night against Seattle on April 22 established a couple of new records; his four assists in the middle frame were the most in a single period and his five helpers in the game are also the most.
Jared Spurgeon tied Ryan Suter's franchise mark for longest assist streak by a defenseman, chalking up helpers in seven consecutive contests.

Plus/Minus

In his first season with his homestate team, defenseman Alex Goligoski managed to post the best plus/minus in franchise history (plus-41).
Boldy's plus-17 is the best by a rookie.
Spurgeon's plus-5 in a win over Dallas on Nov. 18 is the best in a single game.

Goaltending

Cam Talbot's 15-game point streak is the longest by a Wild goaltender, a streak that could actually carry over to next season.
Marc-Andre Fleury became the first goalie to win his first three starts with the club.
