With Marek Zidlicky injuring his shoulder as the result of a hard hit into the boards last night, the Wild recalled defenseman Jared Spurgeon
from the Houston Aeros today. Spurgeon was sent back to Houston on Tuesday after impressing the Wild staff in 12 games during his first-ever NHL callup. Spurgeon did not register a point in his first stint, but did post an even plus/minus rating.
There is no timetable for Zidlicky's return, but he is expected to miss at least a couple weeks. Spurgeon's arrival means the Wild will once again carry three rookies - Spurgeon, Marco Scandella
and Clayton Stoner
- among its seven healthy defensemen.
