/ Minnesota Wild
The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced the sixth annual Toyota Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Heartland, the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger-relief organization, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19 when the Wild hosts the St. Louis Blues at 7:00 p.m.
Wild fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations to Gates 1-5 on Nov. 19 starting at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through the start of the first period. Fans donating five or more non-perishable food items will receive one buy one get one free ticket voucher per qualifying donation. The ticket voucher is good for a future Wild home game during the 2011-12 hockey season.
Donations can also be made through the Wild Toyota Food Drive page on www.wild.com. Additionally, this year fans can donate at their local Toyota dealers, listed below, November 1 to 19.
Our community’s working families; children and seniors are in need like never before. Food delivery to the food shelves, soup kitchens and shelters that make up the distribution network for Second Harvest Heartland’s Food Bank program has increased over 40 percent in just the last year. For every $5 donated in the Minnesota Wild Toyota Food Drive, Second Harvest can provide 18 meals to the most vulnerable members of our community.
