Single-Game Tickets Go On Sale Saturday

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

Last year’s line for single-game tickets stretched down Kellogg Boulevard.
Saturday, September 16 will provide a perfect example of why the support of hockey in Minnesota goes a little bit beyond the norm in the United States. There are very few events in this area that can produce a line that stretches nearly two city blocks to buy tickets. But that’s what happens when single-game tickets for the 2006-2007 Minnesota Wild are made available to the general public at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office.

Beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning, each window at the box office will be open for business, but don’t think that showing up at 8:50 AM will net you your prime seats for the Wild and Avalanche on opening night.

"A year ago, fans began camping out two days in advance," said Jamie Spencer, the Wild’s Senior Director of Cusotmer Sales and Service. "By the time 9:00 AM rolled around, the line stretched out the door, down Kellogg Boulevard and ended near West Seventh Street. Tickets for the Wild’s opening night game against the Calgary Flames sold out within about 10 minutes."

Tickets for all 41 regular season games will be made available via all Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) locations beginning at 12:00 PM (noon) central time. Ticketmaster can also be called at (651) 989-5151 at noon.

Ticketmaster purchases are all well and good, but fans who choose this route of buying will be missing out on free hot dogs on Friday night and breakfast pastries on Saturday morning, which can all be washed down by Coca-Cola products.

"This is one of the most fun events of the year for us and tickets are at an all-time high demand," said Spencer. "So this year, our service team is going to camp out with the fans the night before so we can share in the experience and do our best to match the passion that our fans show every year."

Tickets are available in all price categories starting at $16.00 with a variety of seating locations available. A $2.00 facility fee will be added to all Wild single-game tickets. Ticketmaster charges are not applicable to tickets purchased at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office. Standing room tickets are also available for every game at $34.00.
