The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced tonight that RyAnn Knoll of Sparta, Wis. was the five-millionth patron to attend a Wild game at Xcel Energy Center prior to tonight’s contest against the Edmonton Oilers. Joining RyAnn at her first-ever Wild game was her husband, Brad, their sons Karson and McCaffrey, along with RyAnn’s father Tony Polkoski and a family friend, Jacob Leverich.
For being the five-millionth fan, she received a Minnesota Wild No. 5 million jersey, a team autographed hockey stick, two tickets to a 2007 Xcel Energy Center concert of their choice, two tickets to the Wild’s first home 2007 Stanley Cup Playoff game and announced “Let’s Play Hockey” prior to the start of tonight’s contest.
Tonight’s overflow, sellout crowd of 18,568 extends the club’s sellout streak to 271 games including 245 regular season dates, 18 preseason contests and eight playoff matches at Xcel Energy Center. To date, 5,010,188 patrons have attended Wild home games.
The capacity of Xcel Energy Center is 18,064.
