Register For The Wild Pond Hockey Championships

The 2007 Minnesota Wild Pond Hockey Championships, presented by WCCO Radio, Fox Sports Net North, and KSTC Channel 45, will take place on January 27 & 28 as part of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. For the second straight year, the two-day tournament will be held on Lake Phalen in St. Paul.

The competition is a four-on-four tournament, with round robin pool play on Saturday, and the winners advancing to the single elimination championship round on Sunday.

This year’s tournament will include a 32-team adult tournament, as well as a 32-team PeeWee tournament. All PeeWee teams must be registered with Minnesota Hockey/USA Hockey. The tournaments will be filled on a first-come, first serve basis. Please call 651-222-WILD with any questions or concerns.

Event Details

  • $300 per team for adults and $150 per team for peewees (maximum of 32 teams in adult and PeeWee divisions)
  • Games played 4-on-4 (no goalies)
  • Minimum of four (4) participants and maximum of six (6) per team for adults
  • Minimum of four (4) participants and maximum of six per game for peewees (roster must be split for separate games to meet four-hour rule)
  • All participants must be at least 21 years of age for adults, and with a registered team for peewees
  • Rinks measure 150’ x 75’ with goals 6’ wide and 10" high
  • Games consist of two 20-minute periods (running time) and a five-minute intermission
  • Round robin pool play on Saturday with pool winners advancing to single-elimination tournament play on Sunday
  • Prizes for first and second place teams
