Post-practice update (part 2), 1:15 p.m.

This was really a masterpiece the first time around, but I got timed out of the browser and didn't copy it, so we'll see if I can recreate it even better the second time around.

I feel like a total slacker sitting in the stands typing as assistant coach Dave Barr and video coordinator PJ Deluca run the steps on either side of me.

Todd Richards has not announced his full lineup for Thursday's preseason home finale against St. Louis. He did say, however, that the following players are scheduled to be in the lineup: Niklas Backstrom, Kim Johnsson, Brent Burns, Martin Havlat, Cal Clutterbuck and James Sheppard.

Richards addressed some health issues with his team. He said Derek Boogaard has a concussion - possibly from taking the knob of a stick to his chin. There isn't yet a timetable for his return, and really with concussions, there never is a timetable. Other guys - Koivu, Brunette, Hnidy, Weller, Sykora, Pouliot - are all day-to-day with groin or other lower body issues. Koivu and Brunette practiced today. Bouchard is coming off an illness.

Richards said he liked today's practice, especially after yesterday's day off the ice. He liked the focus and execution. His team spent a lot of time on neutral zone play and entering the zone. Richards knows they need to work more on the power play, with the problem being, much of his power play guys haven't seen the ice a lot. So he is planning some extended video sessions to go over it, since this is a new "system" for most of the players.

One final thing - limited tickets remain for Thursday's game - and the good news is, many of them are of the $26 variety. So call 651-222-WILD or visit Wild.com now to get your seat!

Coming to you from Section 117 at Xcel Energy Center, watching Wild practice. Koivu,  Brunette and Weller are back on the ice with their teammates today. Guys not participating today include Bouchard, Pouliot, Boogaard, Hnidy, Sykora and Almond. Robbie Earl has been cleared medically and is eligible to play in tomorrow's preseason game. That guy is super quick.

Brunette, Koivu and Havlat are on a line today. So are Hilbert, Sheppard and Nolan. Belanger is between Clutterbuck and Gillies. Brodziak, Earl and Weller are together as well, as are Kassian, Irmen and Smith. I think those are all the forwards.

Defensive pairings are Scott/Zidlicky, Johnsson/Schultz, Burns/Zanon, and Scandella/Sifers.

It is a big day at Wild camp. FS North sideline analyst Kevin Gorg has just entered the building, and sat behiind me. He's working on some things for the season. Darby Hendrickson will go on the ice today with a couple players after practice as well for some broadcast pieces. (See Wild Twitter feed for picture of Darby and Clutterbuck).

10:00 a.m. CDT

Greetings Wild fans. We're on the eve of the final Wild home preseason game, Thursday against St. Louis at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Tickets are still available, call 651-222-WILD or visit Wild.com now! We hope to have a Wild lineup later today.

The Wild didn't take to the ice yesterday, instead doing some off-ice workouts and "recovery" sessions after a long first 10 days of camp. Aaron Sickman and I managed to wear the exact same outfit (unplanned) - black pants and blue shirt - so we caught some flack from guys like Cal Clutterbuck and assistant equipment manager Matt Benz. Clutterbuck told us we should be at Red Lobster delivering Garlic Rolls.

NHL.com previews the Wild season today.

A couple housekeeping things before I get over to our 10:30 practice. Just one session today, as the Wild is down to 32 players in camp, and a few are banged up and not always on the ice.

First, don't forget that tonight is the first Hockey Unplugged of the season. It's at 7 p.m. at O’Garas Bar and Grill located at 164 Snelling Avenue North in St. Paul. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in an open ‘mic’ question and answer session and receive an autograph from Josh Harding and James Sheppard. Autograph tickets for each player will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Second, The Wild, Let’s Play Hockey and Minnesota Hockey have teamed up to collect used hockey equipment in the Twin Cities. Xcel Energy Center will have drop-off boxes stationed on top of the Xcel Energy Center Box Office for the team’s preseason game against St. Louis tomorrow, as well as the Qwest Tour on Friday, Sept. 25, featuring the 2010 U.S. Women’s Olympic Team taking on the WCHA’s Women’s All-Stars.

Bring in a new or used equipment item to donate to the Wild game this Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. against the St. Louis Blues and you'll receive a voucher redeemable at the arena box office for a lower level Wild game ticket for any home game between October 6 and December 31.

Fans bringing in used equipment items for the Qwest Tour game on Sept. 25 will receive a voucher for $5 off the price of up to four tickets ($15 general admission).

Also Thursday, we've been notified by the Minnesota Department of Transportation that 35W South will be closed Thursday night between 10 p.m.-5 a.m. at the Crosstown. So this may affect some of you going home from the Wild preseason game. Motorists should follow the posted detours during the closures: Highway 62 west to Highway 100 South – Highway 100 South to Highway 62 East – Highway 62 East to I-35W South.

I need to give a shoutout to a couple of R.S.S. Feed readers as well, like Tera and Joshua. Ok, talk to you from the rink.
