Breaking News into the R.S.S. Feed.
The Wild roster for tomorrow night's game against Columbus has been announced. You can see this lineup tomorrow night! Call 651-222-WILD now to get your tickets, or visit

Forwards: Belanger, Boogaard, Bouchard, Brodziak, Clutterbuck, Gillies, Hilbert, Irmen, Kalus, Miettinen, Pouliot, Sheppard

Defensemen: Burns, Lannon, Rogers, Sifers, Stoner, Zidlicky

Goalies: Backstrom, Harding

We also just received the Columbus roster for tomorrow, which includes Rick Nash. He must have lost a bet going to a road preseason game!

More news: Petr Sykora's tryout didn't last long. By that I mean, he signed a one-year contract with the Wild. He joked that it must have been a REALLY good practice for him yesterday. He did an exclusive interview with - look for that later on today. Here is the audio, with  video coming later.

There was no scrimmage today. I got my days mixed up. Hard to believe...So, Group A practiced and that was it, and the same with Group B.

I'm sure the emotions will be running high for Todd Richards tomorrow night. As well for Claude Noel, the Blue Jackets' assistant coach who was Richards' first coaching mentor, with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals.

I've got to get out of here soon to prepare for this afternoon's season ticket delivery. Tomorrow's RSS Feed will be a gameday - I can't wait! Pepper me with some questions to help build the excitement -

10:55 a.m. CDT, Thursday

Just settling in for Thursday practice. Group A, most of the Wild regulars, is on the ice and will be for about an hour. Then, Group A will scrimmage versus Group B, before a Group B practice at about 12:15.

This is the Wild's last practice before tomorrow's preseason home opener against Columbus! Good tickets still remain for all games. Visit to buy tickets, or call 651-222-WILD.

I'll be spending the afternoon with Martin Havlat, who along with Mikko Koivu, will be delivering tickets to some special season ticketholders who won a contest. You can still get a Wild season ticket, so don't delay!

Todd Richards was just barking orders to "Sykkie" and I was wondering why he was talking to Aaron Sickman from the ice. Alas, I need to remember we now have another "Sykkie" - Petr Sykora.

Some other housekeeping things today.

Mark Saturday, Sept. 26, on your calendars. More specifically, plan on being at the Mall of America for the State of Hockey Celebration. Click here for more info. Near and dear to my heart is the following paragraph:

Levy Restaurants, the new concessionaire at Xcel Energy Center, will showcase one of their new items on their Taste of Hockey menu.  Free Smores Dippers will be distributed to fans beginning at 5 p.m.

I have previewed the Smores Dippers and let me tell you, meeting Kevin Falness is awesome, but the Smores Dippers will make you quickly forget about him. Wild staff previewed all the new concessions yesterday. My personal favorites (and these will be available at regular concession stands throughout the Xcel Energy Center): hot dog topped with BBQ pork, hot dog topped with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese 'kraut, Victory Knots (pretzels) with a great honey mustard, meatball grinder, corn dog dippers, funnel cake fries. Oh and did I mention the Smores Dippers?

We hope to have tomorrow's lineup sometime after practice today.

Good news from the U.S./Canadian relations department, as apparently the countries have worked something out regarding team charter flights. As I mentioned earlier this week, many teams, including the Wild, looked to be in a pickle traveling to Canada. However, all this is settled.

Time for some Q&A

Q: How does Tyler Cuma look at camp?  I drafted him in my keeper league this year and everyone thought I was crazy and went completely off the board.  Does he look like a future PP quarterback?

Tom from Southwest Ontario

A: Thanks for reading Tom. Cuma has looked good, and is well recovered from last winter's knee surgery. I would think we'd see him at some point in the preseason, especially at home. He'll be a great PP quarterback, but what amazes me, is his calm demeanor on the ice. It's tough to rattle the kid.
