3pm PDT, Wednesday...

...Although we may be above Mountain time zone. We're about an hour northeast of Los Angeles. Expected into LAX about 4 p.m. local time. There will be quite a bit of traffic getting to our hotel downtown. It's a new hotel (for us), but our contact there, Jon, used to be our contact at our old hotel.

It's a bit weird being back on the road again. But I'm excited about this trip. Some great cities (unfortunately no real time in Vancouver), and an off day Sunday in San Jose. We'll be in SoCal with two of their baseball teams in the playoffs. The atmosphere should be electric.

Speaking of electric, how about the surreal moments in Tuesday's home opener when fans were cheering loudly for the Twins, too. Niklas Backstrom joked with me after the game that he was looking for where the fight must have been breaking out on the ice - that's how loud it was.

As I mentioned Glen Andresen is on the trip to bring you news. I'll give you some behind the scenes stuff as it warrants.

No big drama today, we took off just after 2 p.m. Our manifest was cut off after the letter "s" somehow, so we just had to make sure Dan Terhaar, John Worley, Greg Zanon and Marek Zidlicky cleared the "no fly" list.

A lot of bags on this trip. The bigger bags get put under the belly of the plane. I saw at least one guitar.

We are at 45 people this trip, but that's a lot considering we're carrying 21 players with us instead of 23. Strength/conditioning coach Chris P-W and assistant equipment manager Matt Benz are with us. We also have a total of six for our TV broadcast.

We'll play at the Kings Thursday and immediately fly to Oakland, then bus to San Jose. SJS has an airport curfew so we'll fly into Oakland and bus 45 minutes. It will be one of many early morning arrivals this trip. Our plane is due into Edmonton next Thursday at 2:45 a.m, then we've got a 45-minute bus to downtown. Arriving home a week from Saturday, we're expected to touch down just before 4 a.m. Off day for players and RSS Feed the next day for sure!

As always feel free to drop a note anytime to It's going to be a great trip, Wild fans. Fox Sports (HD) has the first three games, then KSTC-TV. And you can listen to all the action on WCCO Radio (830) as well.
