HOUSTON AEROS (24-19-6-1, 5th in West Division) – Houston remained in fifth place in the West Division after going 2-2-0 last week. The Aeros three-game win streak was halted Wednesday, falling, 5-2, to the Chicago Wolves on the road. Colton Gillies and Jean-Michel Daoust each scored for Houston while Wade Dubielewicz made 29 saves in the loss. Houston dropped a 2-0 decision at Milwaukee Friday night. Anton Khudobin made 26 saves in the loss for the Aeros. Houston ended its five-game road trip on a high note Saturday, rebounding from a 4-0 deficit in Peoria to top the Rivermen in a shootout, 5-4. Jon DiSalvatore sparked the comeback with two goals, Maxim Noreau added a goal and two assists and Khudobin made 32 saves for the win. The Aeros returned to Houston and defeated Abbotsford, 3-1, Monday evening. Dubielewicz made 30 saves while Chad Rau, Nathan Smith and Cody Almond each scored to lead Houston. The Aeros host Peoria Wednesday before traveling to Milwaukee Friday and Grand Rapids Saturday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Tyler Cuma - Ottawa (OHL):
First round pick (23rd overall) in 2008 Draft was a +4 in three games last week. He has two goals and 12 assists in 37 games.

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in 2009 Draft picked up an assist in two games last week to bring his point total to 22 (13-9=22).

D Marco Scandella - Val-D'Or (QMJHL): Second round selection (55th overall) in 2008 tallied a goal and two assists in four games last week. He ranks second among team defensemen in points (9-20=29), and leads the team with a +10 rating.   


C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): Seventh round pick (193rd overall) in 2009 Draft, and Colgate University recruit owns four goals and 12 assists in 36 games.

LW Erik Haula - Omaha (USHL): The University of Minnesota recruit and seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 NHL Draft scored notched two goals and two assists in four games last week. He now ranks fourth in the USHL in points (20-31=51) and third with a +24 rating.

D Nick Leddy - Minnesota (WCHA): First round pick (16th overall) in last summer's draft picked up two assists and a +4 rating as Minnesota split with Alaska Anchorage last week. Has a goal and four assists in 19 games this season.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) scored his second goal of the year last week, giving him two goals and an assist in 26 games.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick in 2006 (102nd overall) leads Vermont defensemen in points with two goals and eight assists in 24 games.


Matt Hackett - Plymouth (OHL):
The third round draft pick (77th overall) in last year's draft won both starts last week, giving up just three goals. His .927 save percentage ranks second in the OHL, and his 27 wins rank third. He has lowered his goals against average to 2.58.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in last year's draft earned a win in his only start last week. He is 19-16-0-3 with a .908 save percentage and a 2.74 goals against average.
