Prospect Report: March 2

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, went 1-2-0 in its three games last week. Iowa earned a 2-1 win in its first game of the week against Manitoba on Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena (2/24). F Zack Mitchell and D Maxime Fortunus each scored for the Wild. F Tyler Graovac, F Michael Keranen and D Tyson Strachan tallied an assist each. G Stephen Michalek made 21 saves.

The Wild fell in its first match against Grand Rapids, 4-1 on Friday at Van Andel Arena (2/26). Graovac scored the lone goal for the Wild while G Leland Irving made 37 saves. Iowa suffered a 3-0 shutout loss in its second match against the Griffins on Saturday in Grand Rapids (2/27). Michalek stopped 39-of-42 shots.

On Monday, the Minnesota Wild acquired D Conor Allen from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Keranen and RW Scott Sabourin from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for C Brett Sutter (2/29). Mitchell leads Iowa with 33 points (20-13=33) in 57 games this season and also leads the team and ranks T-12th in the AHL in goals. F Grayson Downing ranks second with 31 points (15-16=31) and ranks T-16th in the league in rookie scoring. F Jordan Schroeder (11-19=30) ranks third with 30 points. Irving is 9-16-4 with a 2.63 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout in 30 games. Michalek is 4-2-0 with a 2.01 GAA and a .943 SV% in six games.

The Wild will play three road games this week, visiting Texas Wednesday and Friday before traveling to Manitoba Monday (3/7).
