IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 10-26-2-3, 25 POINTS

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 1-2-0 in three games last week.

Iowa fell 3-0 against Chicago at Allstate Arena on Friday (1/15). G Jeremy Smith stopped 32-of-35 shots.

The Wild earned a 2-1 overtime victory against San Jose at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday (1/16). F Grayson Downing led the team with two assists. F Jordan Schroeder netted a goal during regulation while D Gustav Olofsson scored the overtime winner. G Leland Irving made 25 saves through overtime.

Iowa dropped its last contest of the week, 7-4 against Stockton in Des Moines on Sunday (1/17). Schroeder (1-2=3) and Downing (1-2=3) each led the Wild with three points. F Zack Mitchell tallied two points (1-1=2) while F Marc Hagel also recorded a goal. Irving stopped 27-of-33 shots.

Downing leads the Wild with 25 points in 24 games (11-14=25). He ranks T-8th amongst AHL rookies in goals and T-11th in points. Mitchell (13-8=21) and F Christoph Bertschy (4-17=21) rank T-2nd with 21 points apiece. Mitchell leads Iowa in goals and Bertschy ranks T-15th in the league in rookie scoring. Schroeder ranks fourth with 20 points (10-10=20). Irving is 6-14-3 with a 2.78 GAA, .912 SV% and one shutout in 24 games and is sixth in the league with 664 saves, 11th in minutes played (1,383) and T-18th in save percentage. Smith is 4-12-2 with a 2.98 GAA and a .911 SV% in 19 games.

The Wild will visit Rockford for back-to-back games Friday and Saturday before hosting Chicago Tuesday.

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Earned the loss in his sole game last week, allowing five goals on 29 shots in the Blues 5-1 loss against SaiPa (1/15)…Ranks second in Liiga amongst rookie goaltenders in SV% (ninth overall) and in GAA (13th overall)…Won the gold medal with Finland at the World Junior Championship…Went 4-0-0 with a 2.52 GAA and a .909 SV% in seven games, allowing just nine goals on 99 total shots against and ranked fourth amongst the tournament goalies in GAA and SV%…Recorded his first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
