Iowa went 2-1-0 in three games last week

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, went 2-1-0 in three games last week. The Wild ranks first in the AHL with a 31.6 power-play percentage (12-for-38), T-3rd in fewest goals against (26) and T-4th in power-play goals.

The Wild earned a 3-2 shootout win in its first contest of the weekend against the Griffins Friday at Van Andel Arena (11/2). F Kyle Rau and F Mason Shaw each scored for the team during regulation while F Gerry Fitzgerald netted the shootout winner. G Andrew Hammond stopped 34-of-36 shots through overtime and three of four shootout attempts. Iowa recorded its second shootout victory in as many nights, 2-1, against Rockford Saturday at BMO Harris Bank Center (11/3). D Brennan Menell scored for the team in regulation while Fitzgerald netted the shootout winner again. G Kaapo Kahkonen made 29 saves through overtime and stopped both shootout attempts. The Wild fell in its third contest of the week, 4-2, against the IceHogs Sunday in Des Moines (11/4). F Cal O'Reilly tallied two assists while D Matt Bartkowski and F Justin Kloos each netted a goal. Hammond stopped 35-of-38 shots.

O'Reilly leads the Wild with 10 points (2-8=10) in 10 games this season. Shaw has eight points (2-6=8) and Kloos (4-3=7), Rau (4-3=7) and F Luke Kunin (3-4=7) each own seven points. Hammond is 6-2-0 with a 2.59 GAA and a .920 SV% in eight games this season, ranking T-2nd amongst AHL goalies in wins. Kahkonen is 1-1-0 with a 1.96 GAA and a .931 SV% in two games.
