The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, split its weekend series against the Manitoba Moose.
Iowa won its first game against Manitoba, 3-2 on Friday at Wells Fargo Arena (10/20). F Evan Janssen led the team with two points (1-1=2). F Kyle Rau scored the Wild's second goal of the game while F Colton Beck netted the game-winning goal. G Niklas Svedberg stopped 26-of-28 shots.
The Wild fell in its second game against the Moose, 4-2 on Saturday in Des Moines (10/21). Beck and Rau each scored for Iowa while Svedberg made 23 saves.
Beck leads the Wild with six points (4-2=6) in six games. F Pat Cannone ranks second with five points (3-2=5) while D Brennan Menell ranks third on the team with four points (1-3=4) and T-5th amongst AHL rookie defensemen in scoring.
Svedberg is 2-4-0 with a 3.07 GAA, a .895 SV% and one shutout in six games this season and ranks T-2nd amongst league goalies in games played.
Iowa will host Rockford tonight (10/25) before traveling to Tucson for a two-game road trip this weekend (10/27-10/28).
