The Iowa Wild, the Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, fell in its home opening season series against the Milwaukee Admirals.

Iowa dropped the first contest, 5-2, on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena (10/7). F Gerald Mayhew and F Cal O'Reilly each scored for the Wild. F Zack Mitchell tallied an assist on Mayhew's goal, becoming the second player in franchise history to reach 100 career points (50-51=101). G Niklas Svedberg stopped 21-of-25 shots.
The Wild fell in the second contest against the Admirals, 5-4, on Sunday in Des Moines (10/8). Three players led the team with two points: F Pat Cannone (2-0=2) and F Colton Beck(0-2=2) while D Brennan Menell (1-1=2) registered his first career points. F Luke Kunin also netted a goal while Svedberg made 18 saves.
In two games, Svedberg has a save percentage of .830, and a GAA of 4.17.
Four players lead the team with a +2: D Carson Soucy, D Alex Grant, F Kurtis Gabriel, and Beck. Meanwhile, F Ryan Malone,with the team on an professional tryout agreement (PTO), has already racked up 14 penalty minutes after dropping the gloves in both games.
