Iowa splits weekend series against Milwaukee, falls in Charlotte

The Iowa Wild went 1-2-0 in three games last week. Iowa fell in the first game against Milwaukee with a 2-1 loss on Friday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (3/17). F Sam Anas scored the lone goal for the team and G Alex Stalock stopped 29 of 31 shots. 

The Wild earned a 4-1 victory against the Admirals in the second game on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena (3/18). F Gerald Mayhew (2-0=2) and F A.J. Jenks (1-1=2) led Iowa with two points each while F Zack Mitchell also netted a goal. G Steve Michalek made 27 saves. Iowa suffered a 1-0 shutout loss against Charlotte on Tuesday at Bojangles Arena (3/21). Stalock stopped 18 of 19 shots.

F Alex Tuch (15-16=31) and F Pat Cannone (9-22=31) each lead the Wild with 31 points this season. Anas (11-13=24) and D Mike Reilly (5-19=24) rank T-3rd with 24 points. F Mario Lucia ranks fifth with 22 points (9-13=22). Stalock is 19-14-7 with a 2.34 GAA, a .923 SV% and three shutouts in 41 games and ranks T-5th amongst league goalies in SV%, T-7th in shutouts, seventh in minutes played (2,357) and 11th in wins. Michalek is 11-11-1 with a 2.56 GAA, a .920 SV% and one shutout in 25 games and ranks 12th amongst AHL goalies in SV%.

Iowa will complete its back-to-back against Charlotte Wednesday before traveling to Cleveland (3/24 & 3/26) and hosting Rockford (2/28).
