Iowa sweeps its weekend series

The Iowa Wild swept its weekend series against Texas (2-0-0). Iowa won the first contest, 5-1 on Friday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park (3/10). F Sam Anas (2-0=2), F Pat Cannone (0-2=2), D Maxime Fortunus (0-2=2), D Mike Reilly (0-2=2), and F Alex Tuch (2-0=2) each led the Wild with two points. G Alex Stalock stopped 32 of 33 shots.

The Wild earned a 3-2 victory in the second contest on Saturday in Texas (3/11). Cannone and Reilly led the team with two assists apiece. Fortunus, F Zack Mitchell and Tuch each scored a goal while Stalock made 37 of 39 saves.

Tuch leads Iowa with 31 points (15-16=31) in 42 games this season. Cannone ranks second with 30 points (9-21=30) and Reilly ranks third with 23 points (5-18=23). Stalock is 19-12-7 with a 2.38 GAA, a .923 SV% and three shutouts in 39 games and ranks T-6th amongst league goalies in shutouts, sixth in minutes played (2,240), T-7th in wins and T-8th in SV%. G Steve Michalek is 10-11-1 with a 2.63 GAA, a .918 SV% and one shutout in 24 games and ranks 13th amongst AHL goalies in SV%. 

The Wild is 15-5-5 in the last 25 games and currently sits in fourth place in the Central Division. Iowa will finish its six-game road trip by visiting Milwaukee on Friday before hosting the Admirals on Saturday.
