Mayhew and Anas lead the AHL in scoring

The Iowa Wild went 2-1-0 in three games last week and is 19-4-2 in its last 25 games. Iowa won its first game, 2-1, against San Antonio at Wells Fargo Arena last Tuesday. F Luke Johnson and F Gerald Mayhew scored, D Brennan Menell recorded two assists and G Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 31-of-32 shots. The Wild shutout the Gulls, 3-0, at home on Friday. Mayhew registered his second career hat trick, F Nico Sturm tallied two assists and Kahkonen stopped all 35 shots faced. Iowa lost, 5-2, vs. San Diego on Saturday. Johnson and F Dmitry Sokolov scored and G Mat Robson made 30 saves. Mayhew (39-20=59) and F Sam Anas (17-42=59) lead the AHL in scoring with 59 points this season. Mayhew also leads the AHL in goals and GWG (10), ranks T-2nd in PPG (13) and third in shots on goal (170). He has recorded a point in 20 of his last 23 games (25-14=39). Anas leads the League in assists and PPA (28) and has tallied 35 points (10-25=35) in the last 22 contests. Menell ranks T-1st amongst AHL defensemen in assists, second in PPA (18) and third in scoring. D Louie Belpedio ranks fifth in shots amongst AHL defenseman (132). Kahkonen leads the AHL in wins, ranks T-1st in shutouts (five) and fifth in GAA and T-5th in SV%.
