Iowa winless so far in new year

The Iowa Wild fell in all three games last week. The Wild suffered a 3-0 shutout loss in the first contest of the week against the Admirals on Wednesday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (12/28). G Alex Stalock made 20 saves. 

Iowa dropped its second contest of the week with a 4-1 loss against Rockford on Friday at BMO Harris Bank Center (12/30). F Mario Lucia scored the lone goal for the Wild with assists from D Gustav Olofsson and F Grayson Downing. G Steve Michalek stopped 24 of 27 shots. The Wild fell in its final contest of the week, 5-2, against the Wolves on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena (12/31). Olofsson and F Kurtis Gabriel each scored for Iowa while Stalock made 28 saves in the loss.

F Teemu Pulkkinen leads Iowa with 20 points (11-9=20) in 24 games this season while also leading the team in goals. F Alex Tuch ranks second on Iowa with 17 points (7-10=17). F Pat Cannone ranks third on the team with 16 points (4-12=16). Stalock is 9-9-2 with a 2.75 GAA, a .905 SV% and two shutouts in 21 games and ranks T-6th amongst league goalies in shutouts, seventh in minutes played (1,154) and T-12th in wins. Michalek is 5-8-1 with a 2.86 GAA and a .914 SV% in 16 games. Iowa travels for a three-game road trip, visiting Grand Rapids on Wednesday (1/4) and Manitoba on Saturday and Sunday (1/7 & 1/8).
