Practice Report: Sept. 27

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild
The Wild returned to practice Sunday morning after a day off Saturday. A total of 23 of the 27 players still on the training camp roster took to the ice including Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Andrew Brunette, Shane Hnidy and Mikko Koivu. Missing practice today due to injury were Derek Boogaard, Kim Johnsson, Benoit Pouliot and Petr Sykora. There are still a few roster decisions for Chuck Fletcher and Todd Richards to make as the team needs to get down to 23 active players Wednesday. The team had a 10 a.m. power play meeting before practice. After a 45-minute skate, the club then worked on the power play on clean ice following a quick re-surfacing.

The Wild will skate again Monday morning before departing for Philadelphia in the afternoon for its first “real” road trip of the preseason. In its first three preseason road contests, Minnesota flew to St. Louis, Columbus and Chicago on the day of the game. Minnesota plays the Flyers at Wachovia Center Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the final game of its preseason schedule on WCCO Radio.
