Minnesota overcame a three-goal deficit before falling 5-4 in Saint Paul on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 19,044. C Mikko Koivu, LW Zach Parise, D Jonas Brodin and RW Justin Fontaine each scored for the Wild. G Darcy Kuemper stopped 13 shots in 48:28 while G Niklas Backstrom made three saves in relief. Minnesota finishes its homestand with a game against the New York Islanders on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

Minnesota outshot Anaheim, 25-21, and has only been outshot in three games this season. The Wild has totaled a 821-633 advantage through 25 games.

Minnesota played its third contest of a four-game homestand and moved to 8-3-1 at Xcel Energy Center, where it has outscored opponents, 40-29.

The Wild killed all four of the Ducks power-play chances and has killed 37-of-40 (92.5%) of opponent power-play opportunities combined in the last 13 games dating back to Nov. 8. Minnesota ranks second in the NHL with a 89.5% penalty kill percentage (68-for-76).

For the third time this season, the Wild scored two power-play goals in a single game. According to Elias Sports Bureau, the goals scored 11 seconds apart at 4:59 and 5:10 in the second period tied a Minnesota franchise record for fastest two power-play goals. The last NHL team to net two power-play goals that fast was Ottawa at Toronto on Oct. 8, 2011 (eight seconds).

C Mikko Koivu got the Wild on the board with his first power-play goal of the season. He now has a four-game point streak (2-2=4), his longest of the season. He has 11 points (4-7=11) points this season, including six (2-4=6) in his last six games. Koivu leads Minnesota with 24 career points (9-15=24) against Anaheim, scored in 32 contests. The Wild captain won 20-of-29 faceoffs (69.0%) on the night, his second-most wins this season.

LW Zach Parise netted his 10th goal of the season. Of his 20 games played this season, Parise has registered at least one point in 13 contests – five of those being multi-point games. He leads the Wild with 20 points (10-10=20) this season.

C Mikael Granlund used two assists to record his second career multi-point game, both from this season. He has 12 points (3-9=12) in 25 games this season.

D Jonas Brodin used a goal and assist to earn his second career multi-point game, after netting two points (1-1=2) at Ottawa (11/20/13). He’s earned a plus-4 rating in each of his last two games and is plus-5 in his last four games.

RW Jason Pominville extending his point streak to four games (1-3=4), tallying the primary assist on Brodin’s goal. He has five points (1-4=5) in his last six games. He ranks second on the Wild with 17 points (5-16=17) in 25 games.

D Christian Folin tallied an assist, and with a helper in each of his two games since being recalled from Iowa (AHL), has his first career NHL point streak. He now has three assists in 10 career games.

G Darcy Kuemper started the game, stopping 13-of-18 shots in 48:28 to earn the loss while G Niklas Backstrom made three saves in relief.

C Ryan Kesler scored twice for Anaheim while RW Jakob Silfverberg, RW Tim Jackman and LW Matt Beleskey each netted a goal. G Frederik Andersen made 21 saves.
