VANCOUVER COACH MARC CRAWFORD QUOTES
Tuesday, October 25, 2005 versus Minnesota
What was the difference between tonight and the first time you were in here:
"I felt we were very patient. Minnesota can counter as well as any team in the league. You have to take away what they are good at. We were patient with the puck, I thought we played a strong game tonight."
Your thoughts on the guys play tonight:
"I was pleased with the way the guys showed maturity, especially in the offensive zone. We didn't turn the puck over. Minnesota has good special teams, and we played them even tonight. We caught Minnesota without a few key guys, but that's the NHL. We want our guys to battle in front of both nets and not take stupid penalties, and I thought we did that tonight."
Talk about your goal:
"Todd (Bertuzzi) made a nice play to get it by the D, even though he fanned on it a little bit, he was able to get it over to me, and I was able to put it in."
What did you want to do different tonight than you did the first time you played them:
"We wanted to make sure we were disciplined because we know they have been very good on the power play, so we wanted to stay out of the box. You have to try and outwork these guys, drive to the net, and get the rebounds."
You should know these guys pretty well by now:
"We know they are well coached, they play a good system, and you have to try and beat them at their game, even though they were missing some key guys. If we play like we know we can, we can beat anybody."
