LW Guillaume Latendresse
scored his 20th goal of the season – his 18th in 36 games with the Wild. Latendresse has four goals in his last six games overall and has 12 goals in 20 games at Xcel Energy Center this season. The Wild is 15-4-1 at home when Latendresse is in the lineup. Latendresse has 29 points (20-9=29) – tying his career-high (16-13=29), set in 80 games in his rookie season in 2006-07.
D Marek Zidlicky recorded his first goal in 16 games, and added an assist – his new team defenseman record 31st helper. Zidlicky leads all Wild defensemen with 36 points (5-31=36) and eight multi-point games.
LW Andrew Brunette recorded his eighth multi-point game this season with a goal and an assist. His assist marked his 30th, the eighth time in his last 10 NHL seasons he has reached 30.
C Mikko Koivu
notched two assists and has seven helpers in his last six games to become the seventh player in Wild history to record 40 assists in one season. Koivu, who leads the Wild with 15 multi-point games, also paces the Wild with 56 points (16-40=56).
RW Cal Clutterbuck
scored his 12th goal – a new career-high – and recorded his first assist in 21 games dating back to Dec. 28.
D Cam Barker, acquired Friday from Chicago, made his Wild debut, scoring a power-play goal with a +2 rating in 19:50 TOI.
LW Derek Boogaard notched his fourth assist – tying his career-high, set in 2005-06.
G Niklas Backstrom
made 27 saves. Backstrom is 29-6-8 with a 1.79 GAA and a .932 SV% at home in his career against Northwest Division opponents, allowing two goals or less 33 times in 43 decisions.
The Wild hadn’t scored six goals against the Canucks since a 6-0 decision Oct. 12, 2005.
Minnesota outshot the Canucks 17-2 in the second period, tying its season-best for fewest shots allowed in a period.
The Wild went 4-for-7 on the power play, its first four PPG game since going 5-for-11 at Nashville Nov. 29, 2008.
Minnesota is 2-3-1 all-time on Valentine’s Day – both wins have come against Vancouver.
The Wild is 8-1-1 at home road while wearing its green sweaters this year.
