RW Chris Stewart and RW David Backes scored 23 seconds apart in the second period, leading the St. Louis Blues past the Minnesota Wild 6-3 in front of a sellout crowd of 18,112 at Xcel Energy Center. LW Andrew Brunette reached the 700-point mark, RW Antti Miettinen scored two goals and D Marek Zidlicky added another for Minnesota, which travels to St. Louis on Tuesday.

LW Andrew Brunette posted three assists to become the 28th active NHL player with 700 points. Brunette has 702 points (255-457=702) in 1,025 games.

C Mikko Koivu had three assists, giving him three multiple point games in six outings since missing 11 games with a broken finger.

RW Antti Miettinen scored his second and third goals in his last four games to give him 14 goals this season. The Wild is 7-4-2 when Miettinen scores a goal.

D Marek Zidlicky scored his fifth goal of the season – second since Dec. 12. He has missed 25 of the last 38 games due to injury.

D Greg Zanon recorded his 1,000th career blocked shot.

Minnesota lost in regulation for just the third time (27-3-4) when scoring first.

Wild radio play by play man Bob Kurtz missed the game due to illness, snapping a streak of 912 consecutive preseason, regular season and playoff games called by Kurtz. He had seen every Wild game in history prior to tonight.

The Wild, 0-7-1 in its last eight, has not gone winless in eight consecutive games since a nine-game streak from 1/19-2/8/02 (0-6-3).
