Plays Of The Week: March 7

by Ross Hollebon / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

This week’s nominees are:

Duby Patience (March 5, 2016 at BUF)
Goalie Devan Dubnyk held steady during overtime in Buffalo, remaining patient and stuffing Evander Kane on a breakaway to keep the Wild alive. With 2:10 remaining in the extra frame, Kane took and outlet pass up the right side and into the Wild’s defensive zone. He worked across the crease with speed, but Dubnyk was up to the task and blocked the shot.

Coyle Dangles (March 5, 2016 at BUF)
The Buffalo Sabres scored on their first shootout attempt, so it was up to Charlie Coyle to even things up. And he did. Coyle came in from the right side, slow and deliberate and stick handled back and forth multiple times before beating Sabres goalie Robin Lehner and setting up our next play on this week’s list.

Return To Pominville (March 5, 2016 at BUF)
Jason Pominville
is a former Buffalo forward who scored 185 goals for the Sabres during his time there. This night he would score again, but in the shootout with the deciding goal. Pominville looped towards the net from the left side and waited out Lehner before burying the game winner low and to the right.
