Plays Of The Week: Jan. 25

by Ross Hollebon / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

The winning vote getter for the week of Jan. 18 was “Sutes Up.” On Jan 12, 2016 vs. Buffalo, Ryan Suter, on a shorthanded give-and-go with Erik Haula, handcuffed Sabres goalie Linus Ullmark with a backhand that hit the crossbar, went straight up in the air, and on the way down bounced off Ullmark’s back and in for the goal.

This week’s nominees are:

PLAY #1
Dubnyk Slide & Glove (Jan. 20, 2016 at ANA)
Central Division All-Star Devan Dubnyk flashed the glove in Anaheim, robbing Corey Perry of a goal. Dubnyk stopped the initial slap shot of the Ducks Hampus Lindholmn, then slid across the crease to stop the follow-up.

PLAY #2
Kool-Hand Kuemps (Jan. 21, 2016 at LAK)
Darcy Kuemper
breathes a sigh of relief after the Kings shot hits the pipe, allowing him to reach back and sweep the puck out of harms way in Los Angeles.

PLAY #3
Coyle’s Corral (Jan. 21, 2016 at LAK)
Charlie Coyle
shone bright under the Hollywood lights, taking a hail-mary pass from Marco Scandella and scoring on the breakaway against Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick.
