Plays Of The Week: April 4

by Cate Gamache and Dara Wolf / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

The winning vote getter for the week of March 29 was "Parise Hatty."

Stoll Snipe (March 29, 2016 vs. CHI)
Veteran Jarret Stoll netted an early goal against the Blackhawks on March 29. Mike Reilly recovered the puck from Jordan Schroeder and rifled a pass across the ice to Stoll. A quick wrist shot by Stoll sent the puck over Chicago goaltender Scott Darling’s left shoulder, smacking the crossbar and going in to make it 1-0.

Saucy Spurge (March 29, 2016 vs. CHI)
Jared Spurgeon scored the game winning goal against the Wild’s division rivals, the Chicago Blackhawks, on March 29. Following a clean breakout from the defensive zone, Mikko Koivu carried the puck over the blue line and sent a saucer pass across to Spurgeon, who broke away from the Chicago defense and was all alone in front of the net. Moving to his backhand, Spurgeon chipped the puck over the blocker of Chicago goalie Scott Darling, giving the Wild the lead.

Haula Streak (March 31, 2016 vs. OTT)

As Ottawa tried to break the puck out of their zone, Jason Pominville intercepted a loose puck in the high slot, skated through two Ottawa defensemen and passed the puck across the slot. Erik Haula, who was waiting all alone on the back door, fired a shot past Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson to tie the game and extend his point streak to 10 games.
