Play Of The Year Unveiled

by Glen Andresen / Minnesota Wild
After each week during the regular season, asked fans to pick the Top Play from each week. Each of the 27 weekly winners squared off along with five plays that received the most votes, but were not picked as Top Plays in their respective weeks.

After a month-long voting process, we have our Top Play champion. The Wild's Play of the Year goes to Niklas Backstrom, who preserved a 1-0 shootout victory by making a dazzling pad save on Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jack Johnson. Backstrom's save, which was actually a four seed in the Backstrom Bracket, completed its run by besting Mikko Koivu's spin-o-rama pass to Andrew Brunette in the championship matchup.
