Forward Zach Parise will return to the Minnesota Wild lineup on Friday when it plays the Winnipeg Jets at Xcel Energy Center.
Parise has missed the past eight games with a sprained MCL. He practiced in full on Thursday after being medically cleared, and will play on Friday for the first time since sustaining the injury on Nov. 5.
On Thursday, Head Coach Mike Yeo said the Wild had two plans in place for Friday: One that included Parise, and one that did not.
Through 12 games this season, Parise had led the Wild with seven goals. The Wild had averaged 3.08 goals per game and went 7-3-2; without Parise, the Wild averaged 2.75 goals per game and went 4-3-1.
