Parise Out With Foot Contusion

by Mike Doyle / Minnesota Wild

The injury bug continues to bite the Minnesota Wild, as the club is expected be without Zach Parise for 2-3 weeks.

The forward suffered a foot contusion last night against the St. Louis Blues. During the first period, he blocked an Alexander Steen slap shot. He returned for a portion of the second, but left the bench and didn't return. He is the Wild's leading scorer with 22 points (11-11=22).

Tomorrow's game against the Phoenix Coyotes will be the first Parise has missed since signing with Minnesota. The forward has been durable throughout his eight-year career. Outside of missing 69 games with a knee injury in 2010-11, he’s missed a total of three games during his other eight NHL seasons.
