Outdoor Overview: Stadium Series Timeline

It’s finally here! It’s time for the 2016 Coors Light Stadium Series in Minnesota, and we don’t want you to miss out on anything. Check out the timeline of events for this weekend, and be sure to stop by and celebrate with the rest of the State of Hockey.

Saturday, Feb. 20

Expected Weather: High: 48, Low: 33

Mostly Cloudy, 10% Precipitation, WNW 10 mph

11:00 a.m.

  • Parking lots open
  • Spectator Plaza opens:
    • Stop by SE Oak Street outside TCF Bank Stadium from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. All attractions are free, and you won’t need a ticket to attend.
    • Check out the activities and music lineup here.
  • Tailgating opens
    • Tailgate for both the Alumni Game and the Stadium Series Game at Lot 33, Lot 37, Maroon Lot, Gold Lot and Gopher Lot as well as the St. Paul Shuttle Lot (SC 108).
    • Tailgating must end four hours after game time, and all vehicles must leave the parking lots by midnight.
  • Split The Pot Raffle
    • Throughout the day, purchase your raffle tickets at Spectator Plaza or inside the stadium.
    • You do not have to be present to win the raffle.
    • Saturday’s beneficiary are the charitable causes of the Minnesota NHL Alumni Association.

2:00 p.m.

  • Stadium Gates Open
    • Arrive early and if you must bring a bag adhere to these guidelines:
      • Only clear bags measuring 12”x 12”x 6” or less.
      • Women’s clutch bags are not to exceed 6.5” x 5” x 2”.
      • Clear plastic bags carrying only purchases made at the stadium retail shops are allowed in.
      • Express lanes will be set up for fans without bags.
      • Baby food and supplies as well as blankets (carried on the shoulder) will be allowed into the stadium.

2:15 p.m.

  • Minnesota and Chicago Alumni Players Arrive
    • Line up at the Red Lake Country entrance (arrive early!) and you could see some of your favorite Alumni players arrive at TCF Bank Stadium.
    • This is free and open to the public.

4:00 p.m.

  • Alumni Game Begins: Watch on FOX Sports North and Comcast Sportsnet in Chicago. Tune in via radio to KFAN FM 100.3.
  • Player introductions
  • Let’s Play Hockey: Al Shaver
  • Ceremonial Puck Drop: The wives of deceased North Stars Bill Goldsworthy, Murray Oliver and J.P. Parise
    • Bill Goldsworthy, former North Stars right winger
    • Murray Oliver, former North Stars player and Assistant Coach
    • J. P. Parise, former North Stars Captain and Assistant Coach and father of Wild's Zach Parise
  • Flag Bearer: Izzy Beaupre, daughter of former North Stars goaltender, Don Beaupre

30 minutes prior to sunset — approximately 5:17 p.m.

  • I-35 Bridge lit up with official Wild colors, Forest Green and Iron Range Red, in celebration of NHL Stadium Series Weekend

Sunday, Feb. 21

Expected Weather: High 42, Low 27

Mostly Cloudy, 20% Precipitation, NW 18 mph

9:30 a.m.

  • Parking lots open
  • Spectator Plaza opens
    • Stop by SE Oak Street outside TCF Bank Stadium from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. All attractions are free, and you won’t need a ticket to attend.
    • Check out the activities and music lineup here.
  • Split The Pot Raffle
    • Throughout the day, purchase your raffle tickets at Spectator Plaza or inside the stadium.
    • You do not have to be present to win the raffle.

    • Catch the game on NBC and KFAN FM 100.3.

  • I-35 Bridge lit up with Forest Green and Iron Range Red in celebration of NHL Stadium Series Weekend

Tuesday, February 23

  • Skate on the Stadium Series ice
    • For $20, fans will receive:
      • One-hour of skating on the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series ice sheet.
        • Session I: 7 – 8 p.m.
        • Session II: 8:15 – 9:15 p.m.
        • Session III: 9:30 – 10:30 p.m.
      • Watch the Wild-Islanders home game on the video board.

Public Transportation Tips:

  • Stadium Village Station on the METRO Green Line is steps away from TCF Bank Stadium
  • METRO Blue Line connects to the METRO Green Line at Downtown East Station
  • Northstar Commuter Rail passengers can connect to the METRO Green Line at Target Field Station
  • METRO Transit buses (Routes, 2, 3, 6 and 16) all stop near TCF Bank Stadium

Parking Tips:

  • Park at the St. Paul Fairgrounds (Lot S108) and hop on the free shuttle service to and from TCF Bank Stadium
  • Pre-purchase parking at z.umn.edu/nhlparking

Driving To TCF Bank Stadium:

  • From Downtown Minneapolis
    • From I-94 East/MN-55 East
  • Take exit at SE 23rd Avenue and continue straight, the stadium will be on your left.
  • From I-35W North take exit at University Ave. SE and continue straight for three miles. The stadium will be on your left.
  • From Saint Paul
    • Take I-94 West to Huron Blvd. SE (Exit 235B) and continue to SE 23rd Avenue. The stadium will be on your left.
