ST. PAUL - Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has named Chris O'Hearn Director of Hockey Operations.
O'Hearn joins the Wild after spending the 2018-19 season as a professional scout for the Calgary Flames. Prior to working for the Flames, he spent 11 seasons with the Arizona Coyotes, including the last three seasons as Assistant General Manager. With the Coyotes, his responsibilities included player contract research and negotiations, scheduling, salary arbitration and salary cap management. O'Hearn was also involved with fiscal and strategic planning, evaluating pro and amateur players, compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and administration with the NHL's Central Registry as well as the day-to-day operations of the hockey department.
The Winnipeg, Man., native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Arizona State University in 2004 and graduated from the New England School of Law in 2007.
He and his wife, Ashley, have a son, Callan, and a daughter, Andersen.
