ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Ryan Murphy to Iowa of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Murphy, 24 (3/31/93), totaled two points (1-1=2), six penalty minutes (PIM), a plus-5 rating, 12 shots on goal and 11 blocked shots in nine games with Minnesota since being recalled from Iowa on Nov. 27. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Aurora, Ont., has tallied 11 points (1-10=11) and 39 shots on goal in 18 games with Iowa this season, leading Iowa defensemen and ranking T-4th in assists.

Murphy became the 236th player (219th skater) to appear in a regular-season game with the Wild when he debuted with Minnesota on Nov. 27. He was originally selected by Carolina in the first round (12th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and was signed as a free agent by the Wild on July 1.

Minnesota visits the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow at 6 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
