Pond Hockey Tournament Postponed

***Please Note: Due to poor ice conditions and a balmy forecast, the Wild Pond Hockey Championships have been postponed. The tournament will now take place on Saturday, February 4, and Sunday, February 5. For teams unable to participate that weekend, full refunds will be granted. All team captains will be contacted by email AND phone by Thursday, January 26***

The Minnesota Wild Pond Hockey Championships, presented by WCCO Radio, Fox Sports Net North, KSTC Channel 45 and the Pioneer Press, will take place on Lake Phalen as part of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 4, and Sunday, February 5.

The comepetition will be 4-on-4, with round robin pool play on Saturday, with the winners advancing to the single elimination championship round on Sunday.

Tournament Details

  • $300 per team (maximum of 64 teams)
  • Games played 4-on-4 (no goalies)
  • Minimum of four (4) participants and maximum of six (6) per team
  • All participants must be at least 21 years of age
  • Rinks measure 150' x 75' with goals 6' wide and 10" high
  • Games consist of two 20-minute periods (running time) and a five-minute intermission
  • Round robin pool play on Saturday with pool winners advancing to single-elimination tournament play on Sunday
  • Prizes for first and second place teams
