Goal song 10.3.18

ST. PAUL -- Starting with Saturday's home opener against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Minnesota Wild's goal celebrations at Xcel Energy Center will have a familiar soundtrack.
The team will return to using Joe Satriani's "Crowd Chant" as its official goal song. Wild season ticket members voted to change the tune back after two years of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" accompanying Minnesota's goals on home ice.

Listen to 'Crowd Chant' as it will sound at Xcel Energy Center:
More than 70 percent of respondents to the Wild's annual season ticket member survey indicated a desire to change the goal song this year. In a follow-up survey, more than 80 percent favored "Crowd Chant" over Kaleo's "Glass House," an option chosen by the Wild's game operations staff.
Satriani released "Crowd Chant" in 2006, and shortly after the Wild became the first NHL team to use it following a goal. It had been Minnesota's goal song until the franchise chose to honor late State of Hockey native Prince and playing "Let's Go Crazy" after every goal, starting with Game 6 of the 2016 Western Conference Quarterfinal series vs. Dallas.
The Wild hosts Vegas on Saturday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM. HocktoberFest on West 7th, a street party on West 7th Street in downtown St. Paul between Kellogg Blvd. and Walnut Street, will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. in conjunction with the home opener.
