Gibbons, 41 (6/30/64), begins his first year as director of Hockey Operations for the Minnesota Wild. He will be responsible for many of the day-to-day duties of the Hockey Operations department, including monitoring rosters and salary commitments of other NHL teams, performing player contract and arbitration research, and supporting the team staff in training camps, team travel and scouting operations.
The New Jersey native spent the last eighteen months working as an attorney for the Capitol Heights law group in Saint Paul. Prior to that he was in private practice for four years. Gibbons also has ten years of experience in the banking industry, working in various capacities. Gibbons obtained a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, along with an M.B.A. from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Gibbons is on the board of directors for the Minnesota Irish Fair, and serves as adjunct faculty at William Mitchell College of Law. He and his wife, Susanna, have three children, Ceallach, Cait, and Breandan. The family resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
