Metro Transit to offer fans free rides to games

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild in conjunction with Metro Transit today announced that hockey fans can take advantage of free rides to all Wild home games during the 2008-09 season.  Free rides will be available on any Metro Transit bus or train anywhere Metro Transit travels.

To receive a free ride to a Minnesota Wild home game, fans simply need to show their ticket for that day’s game to the driver as they board a bus or a transit police officer on the Hiawatha light-rail line. Free rides are available two hours before face off until two hours after the game ends. Seven Metro Transit routes travel right past Xcel Energy Center, making it easy to get to and from games.

To get Metro Transit route and schedule information, call 612-373-3333 or visit www.metrotransit.org. Metro Transit is a service of the Metropolitan Council. Customers boarded its buses and trains 77 million times last year, the highest annual ridership in 25 years.
