MINNESOTA WILD ASSIGNS RW MATT FOY TO HOUSTON
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned RW Matt Foy to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL), the club’s primary development affiliate.
Foy, 22 (5/18/83), collected five points (2-3=5) and 16 penalty minutes in 19 games with Minnesota this season after being recalled by the team on October 1. The 6-foot-2, 219-pound native of Oakville, Ontario recorded an assist in his NHL debut on October 5 against the Calgary Flames and tallied his first two NHL goals against the Vancouver Canucks on October 12. Foy was selected by the Wild in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
