Pretty good goaltending at both ends tonight

“It was an exciting game, no doubt.  Right in the warm up, Mario [Tremblay] came and said, ‘we better be ready tonight because they are skating and you can see when a team is ready to play’ and they were.  We started good.  I loved the intensity that we had.  Our defensemen took the man on many occasions.  I thought it was a very good game.  In a way, it was very easy to coach when you have your guys that are working hard.”

Talk about Manny

“He played great.  Both goalies did a great job.  Manny, especially at the end.  It was four to five shots coming from different angles and even one in the slot that he stopped.  He had to be good there because I think a couple of these shots he didn’t see.”

Did you think that goal that was reviewed was a goal?

“Yes, I do.”

You finally got one back

“We still have four more to go…[laughing].

Were you surprised it was not reversed?

“It was close.  That is the reason why probably the round of the puck was right close to that line.  That line was so close that they thought it was no goal.”

Manny Fernandez

Is it hard to watch a goalie loose a game the way both of played that game?

“I thought this whole thing was a rivalry between me and him.  That is what I thought.  We are playing the bad guys.  We are not making the playoffs and if we could have gotten a second goal, it would have been nice to take all the points away from this.  Well, they got a point and they played real well tonight.  Rollie [Dwayne Roloson] played really well too.  Its one of his best games I’ve seen him play this year.

That goal being reviewed…

“I thought it was across the line.  I got a glimpse of it last minute.  I knew my stick was inside.  I didn’t even think the shot guy knew it was a shot because he didn’t write me in a shot there.  I think it surprised everybody.  I think nobody saw what happened there.  I thought when they replayed that I was in trouble.”
