MINNESOTA COACH JACQUES LEMAIRE QUOTES
Sunday, October 16, 2005 versus Anaheim
How do you feel the guys played tonight:
"I thought we played well. I felt towards the end of the game they had a couple good chances. We had good fore checking and good positioning. We covered the passing lanes. When they made passes it was on our stick."
When do you think the rest of the league will start recognizing your power play:
"I hope they don't. When we skate we draw penalties, and you have to play smart. But everybody seems to be playing well. We need all of our guys playing well for us to win."
Any lingering thoughts of Giguere's (Jean-Sebastien) past play.
Good to get some goals by him, to help our confidence. Maybe it will help us in the future. It's always nice to get that first goal."
Your thoughts on the team's play tonight:
"This is a good team win. Hopefully this will get us on a roll, and we can build on this for Wednesday's game against San Jose. I know Manny (Fernandez) was looking for the shutout, he played well. I'm sure he's disappointed that he didn't get it. But he will come back fine for the next game."
Talk about your special teams play:
"The penalty killing especially is playing well. We are playing as one unit, and the opposition doesn't have time to make plays. We can enjoy this win for fifteen minutes, but we have to prepare for a good San Jose team. They work hard and they are tough to play against."
