Is It In Your Blood? Wild Moustaches

by Glen Andresen / Minnesota Wild

I’m starting to think there are quite a few people who have it in their blood. In September, we asked fans to share their Wild Rooms, and there were so many man caves, hockey sanctuaries and Wild-themed kitchens, we half expected to see Wes Walz in the background going through the beer fridge.

In October, we wanted to see your Wild outfits and costumes, and there was so much Wild paraphernalia, the folks in the Xcel Energy Center Hockey Lodge started doing cartwheels and polka dances.

Now that it’s November, it shouldn’t come as any surprise what we want to see. We want to see your ‘staches, and lots of them.

Now ladies, I know what you’re thinking: “I’ve been trying forever to grow a moustache, but it’s just not working!” Fear not fair lasses. You don’t have to sit this one out. We will accept any moustache submission, whether it is real, fake, current or old. You can even Photoshop a ‘stache on a picture if you are so inclined. This goes for the kids and the folically challenged males as well. The “Mo” with the biggest wow factor will be the winner.

But there are two rules:

1. In your photo, there must be some type of Wild or hockey article. It could be a jersey, shirt, hat, hockey stick or poster. But there has to be something hockey-related, other than just your sweet upper-lip hair.

2. Unlike past photo submission contests, all fans will be required to load their ‘stache photos on the Minnesota Wild’s Facebook page. If you’re not a fan of the Wild Facebook page, it’s easy. Just go to and become a fan by clicking the like button. Simply post your photo  - one entry per person during the contest - to the wall before Wednesday, Dec. 1. If you’re not on Facebook, get with the times man! How else are you going to reconnect with people you went to grade school with in the 1970’s?

You have until Wednesday, Dec. 1 to get your photos uploaded to the Wild’s Facebook page and the winning submission will be announced on Friday, Dec.3 and will get two tickets to the Wild vs. Detroit Red Wings game on Dec. 26.
