The Iowa Wild clinched its first-ever berth in the Calder Cup Playoffs on Saturday night, but had to wait 24 hours to find out who it was playing.
Perhaps fittingly, it will be the Milwaukee Admirals.
The No. 3 seed in the Central Division portion of the Western Conference postseason bracket, Iowa's Calder Cup bid will begin Sunday, April 21 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Game 2 will follow 48 hours later before the series shifts to UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee for Game 3 on April 25.
If necessary, Games 4 and 5 would also be played in Milwaukee, with Game 4 taking place April 26 and a potential Game 5 taking tentatively scheduled for April 29.
Iowa certainly has some level of familiarity with the team it's about to face in the playoffs. The Wild played the Admirals six times during the regular season, posting a 4-1-0-1 record against its rival.
Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton served as Milwaukee's GM for 12 seasons while working for the Predators organization. Minnesota assistant coach Dean Evason was Milwaukee's head coach for six years, from 2012 until last season, helping the Admirals to the playoffs four times.

While the Wild enters the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, Milwaukee was the hottest team in the AHL over the final month of the regular campaign, finishing with a 14-game points streak.
