MINNESOTA WILD COUNTRY TO AIR ON KSTC.TV,
CHANNEL 45 STARTING SATURDAY, JANUARY 7 AT 5:30 PM
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with KSTC.TV, jointly announced today that Minnesota Wild Country will make its debut on KSTC.TV, Channel 45 on Saturday, January 7 at 5:30 PM.
Minnesota Wild Country is a weekly magazine show dedicated to everything Minnesota Wild and will take fans behind the scenes of the organization. The thirty-minute show will include weekly highlights, a spotlight feature and news and notes about the Wild and their primary development affiliate, the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). Other features of the show will include highlights of the Wild in the community and their grass roots campaign to preserve the interest and history of the state of hockey.
Hosted by Clay Matvick, Minnesota Wild Country will include reports from 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS sports anchors Rod Simons and Anne Hutchinson, as well as former NHL great Phil Housley. Minnesota Wild Country will air weekly on KSTC.TV, Channel 45 Saturdays at 5:30 PM and will re-air Sundays at 11:00 PM throughout the rest of season.
KSTC.TV, Channel 45, is the Twin Cities’ only independent television broadcast station and debuted in September of 2000. Owned and operated by Hubbard Broadcasting, KSTC.TV joined 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS as Minnesota’s first "duopoly": two stations owned by the same broadcasting company in a designated market area. In addition to being the only fully independent free over-the-air UHF television station, Channel 45 offers unique local and syndicated programming as well as local sports and entertainment. Channel 45 can also be found on cable channel 12 in most areas of the Twin Cities.
