Fans who bring a new pair of children’s shoes to the Aeros’ game this Friday at Toyota Center will receive a voucher for two tickets to the April 13 game. Drop off locations are next to the customer service table behind section 106. The Aeros also held a shoe drive at four local ice rinks last weekend to benefit Shoes for Orphan Souls and gathered shoes for more than 40 children.
The Aeros’ annual involvement with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center drive kicks off Saturday, Nov. 4 at Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center from 2-7 p.m. in the parking lot. The Aeros are also encouraging fans to donate at neighborhood donors centers through November 12. December locations include “The Hangar”, the Aeros’ official merchandise store (Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.), Toyota Center (Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 3-7:30 p.m.) and Katy Mills Mall (Friday, Dec. 15 from 2-8 p.m.). Donors will receive a T-shirt and special Aeros gift.
During last season alone, the Aeros helped account for 367 blood drive donors, including 17 new donors, and saved 3,876 lives.
The Aeros will also hold a food drive benefiting the Houston Food Bank at their home games on November 17, 19 and 24, as well as at “The Hangar” on November 20-22 between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Bins will be placed at both Toyota Center entrances at the games.
