Hockey Day Minnesota: Five Things to Know

Tickets, parking and more to keep on your radar for this year's celebration in Stillwater

Hockey Day Minnesota 2017 presented by Wells Fargo is fast approaching, and final details are falling into place. Before you head to Lowell Park in Stillwater for the festivities, here are five things to be aware of.

1. Tickets can be purchased online or at Lowell Park on Hockey Day Minnesota.

Fans interested in attending Hockey Day Minnesota in Stillwater can purchase tickets ahead of time by clicking here. An adult ticket is $35, and student tickets are $25. Children under the age of 3 do not need a ticket for entry, and the range of ages accepted for student ticket pricing is 3 to 18 years old (seniors in high school). Tickets will also be available for purchase at Lowell Park, but quantities are limited.

2. Fans are encouraged to take advantage of free park-and-ride shuttle services.

Parking in downtown Stillwater will be limited on Hockey Day Minnesota, but there will be several park-and-ride locations available to fans on Hockey Day Minnesota. For your suggested park-and-ride shuttle service location, check out this list. Buses will begin transporting fans at 8 a.m., and the shuttle service will also bring fans to the ice castle in Lowell Park. For Friday's activities, fans should look for parking in area lots, ramps and on streets around Stillwater.

3. On the day before Hockey Day Minnesota -- Friday, January 20 -- Lowell Park will offer hockey-related entertainment.

On the docket for Friday are three hockey games: the Stillwater Police vs. Fire game, the Minnesota Whitecaps' contest against the Korean National Team and a University of Minnesota vs. University of Wisconsin alumni game. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or offer a $5 donation to Second Harvest Heartland if they want to attend Friday's games. The Police vs. Fire game begins at 4 p.m., the Whitecaps play at 6 p.m. and the Golden Gophers vs. Badgers alumni game is at 7:30 p.m. Gates open on Friday at 2 p.m.

4. Hockey Day Minnesota's first game is at 10 a.m., and a very full day awaits after that.

This year's Hockey Day Minnesota features three high school games, two college match-ups and a Minnesota Wild game to top it all off. Here is the full schedule, including broadcast channels and times:

8 a.m. Gates open Lowell Park, Stillwater

10 a.m. Thief River Falls vs. Mahtomedi (Boys) Lowell Park, Stillwater FSN

3 p.m. Minnesota State University - Mankato vs. St. Cloud State University (Women) Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, St. Cloud FSN+
5 p.m. University of Minnesota vs. University of Wisconsin (Men) Kohl Center, Madison, Wisconsin FSN
5:30 p.m. Minnetonka vs. Stillwater (Girls) Lowell Park, Stillwater FSN+
8 p.m. Minnesota Wild vs. Anaheim Ducks Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul FSN

5. Hockey Day Minnesota merchandise can be purchased at the Hockey Lodge, online ahead of the event or in Lowell Park.
