Wild.com's Dan Myers gives three takeaways from the Wild's 5-3 loss against the San Jose Sharks at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Sunday night:

1. It was a tough-luck night for Zach Parise.
The Wild forward was good on Sunday night. Really good. He scored the first goal of the game 4:21 into the contest and, had it not been for the efforts of Sharks goaltender Martin Jones, likely would have had at least two or three goals, potentially more.

Parise nearly doubled his goal total a few shifts later, but Jones sprawled to rob Parise's one-timer with his left pad.
Parise had at least two or three more grade-A chances in the third, including with the game tied at 3-3 and Minnesota on the power play late.
Parise was scoreless through the first four games of the season, but now has goals in back-to-back games and had chances galore on Sunday, which is a good sign.
2. Nick Bjugstad got his due.
The Blaine native and one-time Mr. Hockey award recipient, Bjugstad's first "goal" drew a delayed goal horn and a lack of the typical post-goal pomp-and-circumstance that comes with it.
Turns out, it wasn't a goal at all. Kevin Fiala whipped a loose puck from the right corner to the goal crease, where it bounced off Jones' pad and laid in the blue paint. Bjugstad jumped on it, but pushed the pad across the goal line, and that's not allowed.

He did get proper recognition for his actual goal later in the period, however, when he had a nifty deflection of a Jared Spurgeon point shot.
The goal was Bjugstad's first in a Wild uniform and marked the 199th career assist for Spurgeon.
3. Kaapo's glove gave the Wild a chance.
With the Sharks leading 3-2 in the third period, Wild goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen made arguably the save of the game, sprawling to rob San Jose's Marcus Sorensen with the glove, keeping it a one-goal game.
A few seconds later, Kirill Kaprizov drew a penalty. Three seconds into that power play, Kevin Fiala hammered a one-timer past Martin Jones to tie the game at 3-3.

SJS@MIN: Kahkonen denies Sorensen with the glove

Literally, less than 30 seconds of game time elapsed between Kahkonen's incredible glove save and Fiala's power-play goal, and if Sorensen's shot ends up in the back of the net, Minnesota may not have a chance late in the game.

SJS@MIN: Kahkonen makes save on Labanc

Kahkonen made a number of gigantic stops down the stretch, including back-to-back saves on Nikolai Knyzhov and Ryan Donato, then he stoned John Leonard cold on a breakaway.
Brent Burns's goal with 1:48 left was a beauty, and earned the Sharks the two points on the night.
