Parise nearly doubled his goal total a few shifts later, but Jones sprawled to rob Parise's one-timer with his left pad.
Parise had at least two or three more grade-A chances in the third, including with the game tied at 3-3 and Minnesota on the power play late.
Parise was scoreless through the first four games of the season, but now has goals in back-to-back games and had chances galore on Sunday, which is a good sign.
2. Nick Bjugstad got his due.
The Blaine native and one-time Mr. Hockey award recipient, Bjugstad's first "goal" drew a delayed goal horn and a lack of the typical post-goal pomp-and-circumstance that comes with it.
Turns out, it wasn't a goal at all. Kevin Fiala whipped a loose puck from the right corner to the goal crease, where it bounced off Jones' pad and laid in the blue paint. Bjugstad jumped on it, but pushed the pad across the goal line, and that's not allowed.
