Zuccarello LAK

Wild.com's Tyler Savitsky gives three takeaways from the Wild's 4-0 loss against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday night:

1. The first game in two weeks started as expected.
The Wild returned to action for the first time in 14 days and understandably came out to a slow start.
Just 1:58 into the game, Wild forward Nick Bjugstad went to the penalty box for hooking, and the Kings quickly capitalized. Jaret Anderson-Dolan put the Kings on the scoresheet 3:36 into the first period after a Jeff Carter pass gave him a wide open net.
Minnesota recorded just three shots in the first period, before showing more signs of life early in the second period.
2. Return of the Mats.
Mats Zuccarello made his season debut on Tuesday night. The forward missed the team's first 11 games after offseason arm surgery. He was on the fourth line with Luke Johnson and Gerry Mayhew.
Zuccarello was on the ice for just over 12 minutes in his first game in over six months, including 2:32 of ice time on the power play. He had his best chance of the night late in the third period when Jonathan Quick made an incredible save on his one-timer off of a Ryan Suter pass.
Last season, Zuccarello ranked fifth on the team with 37 points.
3. Calen Addison made his NHL Debut.
Without Jonas Brodin, Ian Cole, Jared Spurgeon and Brad Hunt against Los Angeles, 20-year-old Calen Addison made his NHL Debut. He was paired with Ryan Suter.
He was on the ice for 19:43 in his debut, the third most for a Wild defenseman on Tuesday night, and was on the team's second power-play unit.
Addison, a second-round pick in 2018, was acquired by the Wild last February in a trade with the Penguins.
He is the 88th player and 30th defenseman to make his debut with the Wild, and is the second this season, joining Kirill Kaprizov.
